Assist with a wide array of routine to complex accounting and financial reporting in accordance with the Statements of Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAP). Prepare the filings as required by Texas Department of Insurance and National Associations of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Preparation & compilation of statutory financial statements based on Statements of Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAP)

2. Preparation of Risk-Based Capital (RBC) reports

3. Preparation of quarterly, annual, and other filing requirements with Texas Department of Insurance

4. Electronic filings to the National Associations of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)

5. Assist with compiling information for the regulatory audit and examination and providing ad-hoc reports to management

6. Responsible for maintenance of general ledgers, prepare monthly journal entries, and reconcile various general ledger accounts

7. Preparing prospective financial statements
8. Accounting system assistance & formations of new books and general ledger structure for new companies in accounting system

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor of Accounting or equivalent degree is required

· Minimum 2 years of experience in Statutory accounting is required

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY:

· Microsoft applications proficiency is mandatory

· QuickBooks proficiency is mandatory
